Sensitively made film which uses non-professional actors - drawing on their experiences to form the characters and story. A young rodeo rider who has suffered a serious injury aspires to get back in the ring despite all the physical signs telling him that his time has passed. Those around him, in different ways, due to class and geography also live precarious lives. We see, in beautifully filmed scenes, how his mastery in working with horses allows him both purpose and psychological escape.
