This new 3 CD set from One Day Music scores on both counts. I looked down the listing and there are a total of 60 items. Al Read (1909 – 1987). He was very popular radio comedian who also appeared on TV and in summer season and panto. He had a deadpan delivery and his stories were based very much on observation and hit a chord with the public.Bernard Cribbins born 1928 is still around today and was highly popular when he recorded "Right, Said Fred" & "Hole in the Ground" & "Gossip Calypso" CD1 & CD2 & CD3. 1962. His career goes back to the early 1950s and he has covered most aspects of show biz. Happy memories...The ultimate 1960s send up is delivered by Eric Sykes & Hattie Jacques through their rendition of "Doctor Kildare" a well known USA TV series. 1962. Eric Sykes CBE (1923 – 2012) was a radio, television and film writer, actor and director whose performing career spanned more than 50 years. Hattie Jacques (born Josephine Edwina Jaques; 1922 – 1980) was a comedy actress of stage, radio and screen. She is best known as a regular of the Carry On films, where she typically played strict, no-nonsense characters, but was also a prolific television and radio performer.Diminutive Charlie Drake's "My Boomerang Won't Come Back" got plenty of airplay and his anarchic comedy was popular for decades.
