Very enjoyable, especially the explanations preceding each canto. The cantos themselves are difficule to follow, not because of the quality of recording, but because of the poet's language. Likewise, it's difficult to follow the "who's who" of personalities. This is where a printed version of the poem, with bibliography, would be beneficial. Having said that, I intend listening to the entire series repeatedly until I gain a better grasp of the smaller details.Audio book reader speaks a little too fast for me to grasp full meaning of a great piece of literature. CDS are not individually labeled to distinguish between the three works, so I had to listen to Inferno, when I was primarily interested in Purgatorio. This book is written in the ancient tongue. That being said it's kind of hard to concentrate on interpreting the phrases while driving in the car. Overall, I did enjoy this audio book more now than I did when I first read it. This would be a great selection to add to your collection of books!I have both the book and the book on audio CD. With the audio CD I have found it much better to get the whole picture when it is read aloud and at the same time I can visualize the journey that was taken from the depths of Hell through Purgatory and to the heights of Heaven. It really gives the listener a understanding of the darkness of spiritual depths to the spiritual heights. It's a real classic.Translator's explanation before each canto really helped understand Dante's journey and references.Avid reader and love the bookIt is understandable, but before each canto, there is a brief summary of the canto, and then there is no warning that the narrator will start reading the canto making it sometimes difficult to discern when the canto starts. The summaries are good, but the producer/editor should have required the narrator to say something similar to "And now Canto 7....".Interested in history, I thought this might bring to light some belief's from long ago. It is a followup to Dan Browns bookMy God what did I buy. Does anyone understand the intro or any of the other discs. I never knew someone could say so much and not really say anything at all. Divine comedy? I didn't laugh once. It's about Hell, Purgatory, and Heaven.I certainly found the first two but not the last one. If you want a copy just ask someone who has it already. I am sure most will give you it for free.
