I appreciate having old classics on Kindle, but so many are stunningly sloppy, run through a text scanner, with no editing, weird font changes and a garble of stray ASCII characters. That is, no attempt to correct the textual hiccups and pot holes that occur from less-than-pristine paper, cheap software, lazy and careless producers. They exist only because they are in the public domain.This production is beautifully done with accurate text and footnotes, and Gustave Doré's famous illustrations appearing in all their luminous glory.
