Shot on 16mm in downtown New York 'Smithereens' follows a young woman 'Wren' (Susan Berman) trying, misguidedly, to become famous by making connections in the city's punk scene. Richard Hell plays a major role and music by 'The Feelies' features prominently, both adding authenticity.
