After a decade of exile in the US, instigated by the church and political forces who opposed the free expression his dancehall allowed the locals, Jimmy Gralton returns to his home village in 1930s Ireland. On seeing the hardships and oppression of the community Jimmy is stirred to re-open the dancehall despite the dangers involved.
