Perfectly crafted, slyly subversive film. 'Jeff' (James Stewart) is a trapped observer who becomes obsessed with the events unfolding in the apartments of his neighbours. He begins to suspect one has committed murder and enlists his socialite girlfriend (Grace Kelly) to assist in his investigation. Parallel to the suspense elements the movie is full of subtexts and wry humour.
