Acclaimed, Oscar nominated documentary following three skateboarding friends (the director being one of them) over a few years as they move into adulthood. They live in a US rust-belt town damaged by financial hardship which has affected their lives and hopes for the future. Other struggles and challenges emerge over the course of filming as they open up to each other and their bonds are threatened.
